“The merging of two clients with two ideas, one to downsize, the other to build the new family home.”

background

The existing 1950’s detached farmhouse is located on a Greenbelt site in a rural setting in West Yorkshire.

This was a unique opportunity to work with two sets of clients on one project. The long term site and home owners are a lovely elderly couple who’s son had long flown the nest and had a family of his own, The pair of clients, mother and father, along with son+ Family decided to extend the existing farm house to create two attached homes to house three generations of the same family.

We extended the side of the existing farmhouse and raised the roof over both old and new sections to create another level throughout. Turning a modest two-bed farmhouse into two modern, light and spacious homes, one with four bedrooms the other with two.
This project was truly fascinating to work on as there was the challenge of merging four different clients and personalities in to two homes with one envelope.
